International buyers interested in participating in BTL 2017 can now submit their application on the Lisbon Tourism Exchange website at

Once submitted, the applications will be carefully analysed by BTL, TAP and Turismo de Portugal. Only accepted applicants will later be invited to join the hosted buyers programme.

International travel agents, DMC directors, tour operators and other professionals in the tourism sector can apply on the BTL website.

Fátima Vila Maior, director of fairs at FIL and responsible for BTL, states: “The hosted buyers programme has been one of the priorities of the organisation, since it is a great way to boost the Portuguese market abroad, by strengthening meeting contacts, presentations and activities reserved for registered companies. The city of Lisbon, and Portugal as a destination in general, only have to gain from the presence of hosted buyers from different international destinations, from the more traditional to emerging markets. ”

The hosted buyers programme is organised by BTL in partnership with Turismo de Portugal and TAP Portugal and aims to support the arrival of international buyers with specific interest in Portugal. This programme also counts on the support of APAVT and various hotels in Lisbon – also BTL partners.

The BTL 2017 will be held from March 15 to 19 at FIL, Parque das Nações.
